1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN by the King’s Harbour Master Portsmouth that Uncrewed Surface Vessel (USV) trials will be conducted In the Solent areas of Hayling Bay between 1 to 22 December 2023.

2. USV operations will be conducted in daylight hours only with a safety vessel in attendance. The USV, “CT6”, is a grey modified mono hull (LOA 6.2m)  which will be supported, when required by a Grey mono hulled vessel “KEV 4” (LOA 6.2m) acting as safety boat. “CT6” will be both towed to the area and remotely controlled, from the vessel “KITT” (LOA 11m) with the remote operator following the International Rules for Preventing Collisions at Sea (COLREGS) at all times. Wherever possible, a separation of at least 200m from craft not involved in the trials will be maintained.

3. The trials will focus on the Winner South Cardinal Buoy in Hayling Bay, the coordinates being:

4. Trials will involve a variety of manoeuvres and equipment tests. Whilst within Portsmouth Harbour and within 1000 yards of the Mean Low Water Springs line the vessels’ speeds will not be above 10 knots taken as "speed through the water" in accordance with KHM General Direction Number 5/23.

5. The safety vessel will be listening on VHF Ch 11 and contact KHM at the beginning and end of serials. 

6. Cancel this LNTM on 23 Dec 2023.
