1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN by the King's Harbour Master Portsmouth, that on 3 occasions in August and September 2023, a hovercraft survey will be conducted on the mudflats between Wicor Marine and Portchester Castle in the north of Portsmouth Harbour. (See highlighted area in chartlet below). The purpose is to carry out a survey of intertidal seagrass.

2. The hovercraft conducting the task will be the “INSPECTOR B” (LOA 5.7m) see below. Due to the way the hovercraft is operated, harbour speed limits will be exceeded and may travel at up to 15 kts. The work will be carried out on the following dates / time:-

Wednesday 30 August 1400 - 1900.

Thursday 31 August 1400 - 1900.

Friday 1 September 1500 – 1900

INSPECTOR B

3. The vessel will be listening to VHF channel 11 throughout and keep well clear of all other craft using the creek. It is planned to launch and recover the craft from the Wightlink Terminal slipway.

4. KHM Harbour Control will be kept informed of the vessel’s area of operation and may be contacted on VHF Ch 11 or by telephoning 02392 723694 for the latest information.

5. Cancel this Local Notice to Mariners 4 September 2023.
