1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN by the King's Harbour Master Portsmouth that underwater sediment sampling will take place at 18 locations within Portsmouth Harbour on 6 January 2023. Precise timings and locations will depend on weather conditions at the time. 2. Sampling will take place at multiple locations as shown in the Figure below.
3. The work will be carried out by ECOSPAN using the vessel 7.9m white catamaran “COASTAL SURVEYOR”. Operations will be weather dependant and only conducted during the hours of daylight. In accordance with the COLREGs, appropriate shapes will be displayed while the vessel is conducting survey operations. Each sample is expected to take approximately 10 - 15 minutes. 4. All mariners are requested to keep a good lookout and pass at slow speed while sampling operations are being conducted. KHM Harbour Control will be kept informed and de-conflict with other marine traffic if the situation demands and can be contacted on 023 9272 3689 or VHF Channel 11 if required. 5.
