1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN by the King’s Harbour Master Portsmouth, that cable removal operations will take place off the western corner of Fountain Lake in Portsmouth Harbour from 30 September until mid-October 2023. 

2. The contractor for these works is Boskalis Westminster Ltd, who will be using the multicat “VIKING ENERGY” (LOA 26.5m) to remove the 3 cables currently laid on the seabed across the main Navigation channel which gives access to Fountain Lake. The workboat “SMIT YOUNG” (LOA 16.3m) will be on site to assist in the operations.

3. Works will be conducted predominantly between 0000 – 0500 to reduce impact on vessel traffic but if and as necessary shorter periods of activity may occur at other times of day, marine traffic permitting. 

4. To assist with the operations, diving will be conducted by MMC Divers from the 11.5m blue and white multi-cat ‘SALVAGER’. Mariners are requested to pass at slow speed, minimising wash, and give a wide berth to the site when diving is taking place.  

5. All vessels will maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 11 and 13 during operations and display flag ALFA or Red White Red lights in a vertical line (at night) when diving is taking place. A close liaison will be maintained with KHM Harbour Control throughout operations.
