1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN by the King’s Harbour Master Portsmouth that on Saturday 17 June 2023 as part of the Armed Forces Day event on Southsea Common there will be a flying display by a Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Spitfire off Southsea. 

2. The display will take place from 1530-1540, with the display taking place over the main Portsmouth channel and the Swashway.

3. An Exclusion Zone for all vessels will be in force from 1520 to 1545 as detailed below:

Harbour Entrance from NCI Gosport to Round Tower
Along the Southsea Mean High Water Springs line to:
50 46.70N 001 04.78W
50 45.80N 001 06.22W (Mary Rose Buoy)
50 46.83N 001 07.67W
Along the Gosport Mean High Water Springs line to NCI Gosport 

Flying Display Exclusion Zone

4. The area will be marshalled by KHM and Ministry of Defence Police vessels, together with a number of Rigid Hulled Inflatable Boats (RHIBs) supplied by the Sea Angling Competition in progress on 17 June. Marshall vessels can be contacted on VHF Ch 11 during the event. 

5. Mariners are requested to vacate the area from 1520 until the completion of the display at 1545 and to comply with requests from the marshal craft. Directions from the KHM Patrol RHIB and Ministry of Defence Police vessels, given under the terms of the Dockyard Port of Portsmouth Order 2005 are to be obeyed at all times.

6. KHM Portsmouth will coordinate all vessels over 20 metres in length to ensure all such vessels are clear of the Exclusion Zone from 1520 to 1545. The Exclusion Zone will be formally established by Securite message on VHF Channel 11.

7. Cancel this Local Notice to Mariners on 18 June 2023.
