1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN by the Queen's Harbour Master Portsmouth that the swimming leg of the Portsmouth Triathlon will take place between South Parade Pier and Southsea Castle on Sunday 18 September 2016.
2. Approximately 250 swimmers will take part in the event. The swimmers will be marshalled by numerous safety craft both inside and on the perimeter of the swim course. Safety cover will be provided by Portsmouth and Southsea Lifeguards. All support craft will display the International Code ‘ALPHA’ Flag whilst escorting the swimmers.
3. The swim will consist of up to two laps of the course. There will be four waves of swimmers, the first starting at 0800, then 0820, 0840 and finally 0900.
4. The Swim course director will be in communication with the Lifeguard HQ on the promenade who will have radio contact with Event Control and the emergency services.
5. All mariners are requested to keep a good lookout and pass well clear of the swimmers and their support craft.
