1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN by the Queen's Harbour Master Portsmouth that a Charity Swim in aid of France Choroïdémie will take place on Tuesday 9 August 2016.
2. Two swimmers will be taking part in the event with one RIB as safety boat. In addition, each swimmer will be accompanied by a kayaker acting as an individual safety craft. The lead boats callsign will be ‘RIB MARLIN”. A listening watch will be maintained on VHF Ch11 and Ch12 throughout the swim.
3. The proposed route of the swim is from Spitbank Fort to Fort Gilkicker beach. The swim is expected to start at approximately 19:00 and complete by around 19:45.
4. All craft will display the International Code ‘ALPHA’ Flag while escorting the swimmers.
5. Mariners are requested to keep a good lookout and pass well clear of the swimmers and the support craft during their crossing of the Solent.
6. Cancel this Local Notice to Mariners on 10 August 2016.
