1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN by the Queen's Harbour Master Portsmouth that an Oil Pollution response exercise will take place in Stokes Bay in the vicinity of 50 46.8N 001 09.4W on 4th, 5th and 6th April 2016 between the hours of 0800 - 1600. The exercise will be conducted by Oil Spill Response Limited (OSRL).

2. The exercise will not involve the use of any pollutants, but will consist of the deployment of various items of oil spill containment equipment from the beach in the vicinity of the Gosport and Fareham Inshore Rescue slipway. As part of the exercise, a 150 metre boom will be deployed, anchored ashore and along its length but will be fully recovered on completion of the day’s operation.

3. Additionally a RIB will be on station when the exercises are occurring, acting as safety craft.

4. Mariners are requested to keep well clear of the area, particularly when the boom is deployed.

5. QHM Harbour Control will be kept informed of the work in progress and may be contacted on VHF Ch 11 or by telephoning 023 92 723689 for the latest information.
