LNTM No 83/16

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN by the Queen’s Harbour Master Portsmouth that operational trials, acceptance and functionality assurance of the newly installed QEC Navigation Lights will be conducted within Portsmouth Harbour and the Main Approach channel from 7 - 11 November 2016.

2. The vessel conducting the trial will be the mono-hull craft “Seamark” (LOA 11.0m - yellow upper over a black hull) which will operate during daylight hours only.

3. The operation will require “Seamark” to transit the main channel in the conventional directions for entry and exit of the harbour but also to operate across the channel at various ranges from the navigation lights; she is permitted to do so in close liaison with Harbour Control and remains obliged not to impede the passage of vessels that can only navigate within the channel.

4. Mariners will be advised on VHF when each of the new navigation lights will be switched on and off; they should not be used for navigation purposes for which only currently charted lights should be utilised.

5. The vessel will maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 11.  Mariners are requested to keep well clear of the vessel while operating if practicable, and to liaise early with the vessel if in any doubt as to her intentions.

6. Cancel this LNTM on 18 November 2016.
