PLYMOUTH LOCAL NOTICE TO MARINERS 014/22

VIDEO SURVEILLANCE - INFORMATION

1. This notice is issued for information by the Queens Harbour Master Plymouth.

2. This Notice to Mariners constitutes a public notice in accordance with the requirements of the Data Protection Act 2018.

3. The Queen’s Harbour Master Plymouth gives notice that various parts of the Dockyard Port of Plymouth, in particular Plymouth Sound and the Hamoaze, are subject to video surveillance by closed circuit television (CCTV) systems which terminate in the Port Control Stations at Flag and Longroom. The nature of the areas under surveillance precludes the siting of warning signs. This notice serves in lieu of such signs.

4. CCTV images are processed in order to enable the Queen’s Harbour Master to carry out his statutory functions and for the purposes of promoting maritime and public safety, as well as crime prevention. They may also be used in pursuing prosecutions against offenders.
