PLYMOUTH LOCAL NOTICE TO MARINERS 016/22

FLOATING DEBRIS IN RIVER TAMAR, HAMOAZE, CATTEWATER AND PLYMOUTH SOUND - INFORMATION

1. This notice is issued for information by the Queens Harbour Master Plymouth.

2. Reports are regularly received of the presence of floating debris, mainly trees, in the upper reaches of the River Tamar and in the Cattewater. Due to the tidal flow, the debris may not only be confined to the upper reaches, but may be encountered elsewhere downstream.

3. All mariners, but particularly those in small craft, are cautioned to be vigilant and navigate with particular caution, alert to the presence of the debris, some of which may be difficult to detect. Having taken avoiding action, craft should report any such tree trunks or debris to either of the Port Control Stations:

Longroom 01752 836528/836490

Flag 01752 552416 or VHF Channel 14
