PLYMOUTH LOCAL NOTICE TO MARINERS 049/22
GIG ROWING INTER COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIPS
IN THE CATTEWATER
INFORMATON
1. This Notice is published by the King’s Harbour Master Plymouth, on behalf of the Cattewater Harbour Commissioners.
2. Mariners are advised that on the Saturday the 15th and Sunday the 16th October the Cornish Pilot Gig Association will be hosting the ‘Gig Rowing Inter County Championships’ in the Cattewater. The event will be based in the Mount Batten Centre.
3. Racing will start and finish off the Mount Batten Centre, with a course to the East in the Cattewater.
4. Safety and guard boats will be in attendance and will be flying a blue flag whilst monitoring VHF 14.
5. Race markers will be orange/yellow conical shapes.
6. Gig racing will take place between 1030-1600 both days.
7. Racing will not interfere with commercial traffic
8. All vessels are to manoeuvre in accordance with the International Rules for Preventing Collisions at Sea. Non-participants are requested to give the race and launch / recovery areas as wide a berth as is safe and practicable.
