RIVER TAMAR - DIRECTION

WEST MUD WATER SKIING/HIGH SPEED AREA

1. This is a direction by the Queen’s Harbour Master Plymouth pursuant to the Dockyard Port of Plymouth Order 1999, Schedule 2 Regulation 10.

2. Following a review into the recreation areas within the port, the use of the West Mud Training area will be extended to non-military water users for water skiing and high speed craft, out of working hours, for a period of 5 months.

3. The West Mud Training Area between West Mud North and West Mud South buoys (As shown on Admiralty Charts) may be used by small craft from 1600 – 2130 Monday to Friday and 0700 – 2130 Saturday and Sunday, with effect from 1 May 16.

4. Vessels under 15 metres length overall may exceed the speed limit within the area. Vessels must comply with the port speed limits outside of the area. However, this direction does not give exclusive use of the area and vessels are to comply with the International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea at all times.
