PLYMOUTH LOCAL NOTICE TO MARINERS 21/16 - INFORMATION

DREDGING AT HMNB DEVONPORT, THE CATTEWATER AND DISPOSAL AT SEA

1. This a joint notice is issued for information by the Queens Harbour Master Plymouth and Cattewater Harbour Master

2. Dredging operations will take place at Weston Mill Lake, 9 Wharf and the approaches to 5, 6, 7, 8 Wharves and Cattedown Wharves, Cattewater commencing 15 March 2016 for approximately 7 days.

3. The works will comprise dredging with disposal of material at sea. Two vessels will under take the dredging operations: Trailing Suction Hopper Dredger “Freeway” and Plough Dredger “Sealion”. Appropriate shapes will be displayed as required by International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea. Mariners are requested to pass at a safe distance and minimise wash when passing vessels engaged in dredging operations.
