a. Narrow Channels (Dockyard Port of Plymouth Order 1999, Schedule 2 Rule 2): The whole of the Cattewater comprises a “Narrow Channel” for the purposes of Rule 9 of the International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea 1972. On hearing such a signal small craft are to clear Sutton Channel immediately; any small craft in the western part of the main channel are also to clear the channel.

b. Speed Limits (Dockyard Port of Plymouth Order 1999, Schedule 2 Rule 10): The speed limit of 8 knots to the east of the line joining Fisher’s Nose and the western end of Mount Batten Breakwater is reduced to 4 knots to the north of the line joining Fisher’s Nose and the southern most point of Queen Anne’s Battery Marina (ie. in Sutton Channel). Wash is to be kept to a minimum.
