Training Safely

Training safely and effectively ultimately go hand in hand. By applying sound principles for warm ups, cool downs, and the use of gym equipment and machinery, you'll negate the need to take excessive rest days in your training programme because of fatigue or over training, whilst also reducing your risk of injury.

Train Safely With Our Videos

We will shortly offer videos on how to train safely from this page. These videos have been developed and designed especially to provide you with the knowledge of how to safely train using common fitness equipment found in most Navy Gyms. They apply to facilities throughout the landside Service estate, as well as those provided on board Ships and Boats at sea.

Additionally, of course, don't hesitate to contact your local Unit PT Office to discuss any questions you may have on how to use specific pieces of equipment - particularly if they're unique to that facility. And always be sure to follow all gym induction processes.
