PILING BARGE AND ASSOCIATED ANCHORS IN PORTSMOUTH HARBOUR MAIN CHANNEL

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN by the Queen’s Harbour Master Portsmouth that from 8th October 2018 a piling barge will be moored in the entrance to the North Camber, secured by steel wire cables to two adjacent anchors, each marked by a buoy and positioned in the main channel.


2. The barge “STEMAT 77” will be in position for approximately three weeks and will on occasion have other barges or vessels lying alongside her.  Each anchor will be marked with a lit yellow special mark (Fl Y 5s), their positions being:

  1. 50 48.090N 001.06.80W
  2. 50 48.036N 001 06.80W

3.    Mariners are warned not to attempt to transit between these special marks and the western end of the barge as the steel anchoring cables will be under constant tension.

4.   All craft engaged in the operation will monitor QHM Harbour Control on VHF Channel 11.

5.    Cancel this LNTM 31st October 2018.
