LNTM No 62/18

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN jointly by the Queen’s Harbour Master Portsmouth and the Harbour Master, ABP Southampton that the Cunard liners Queen Elizabeth, Queen Mary 2 and Queen Victoria, will be departing Southampton together on Friday 10th August 2018. It is anticipated that they will pass west Ryde Middle Buoy before the Red Arrows display off Cowes.  In the period 1925 – 2000 BST Queen Elizabeth will be proceeding to the east passing to the north of Ryde Middle while Queen Mary 2 and Queen Victoria will proceed to the east passing to the south of Ryde Middle.  Once the ships are east of Ryde Middle bank they will form up in a chevron (arrow) formation and proceed slowly eastwards at a speed of about 6 knots.  It is anticipated that the slow speed formation will break up at or soon after 2000 at which point the three ships will depart the Solent independently.

2. Other traffic in the eastern Solent area is to be aware of the coordinated nature of these three large ships manoeuvring slowly and in formation through the Solent and is requested to keep clear of these vessels if at all possible.

3. Please refer to Cowes Harbour Commission LNTM No 19/2018 and Southampton LNTM No 31/2018 for details of Red Arrows and Fireworks displays off Cowes.

4. Cancel this LNTM 11 August 2018.
