1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN by the Queen's Harbour Master Portsmouth that one hovercraft will be operating from Daedalus Slip as part of Hovershow 2017, from 1000 to 1700 on 16 and 17 September 2017 and will navigate in an area as depicted below.  Once launched, the hovercraft will operate in the corridor ordinarily designated for Personal Water Craft (PWC(Jet Skis)) and more widely within their designated operating area when in excess of half a nautical mile from the shore.


2. For the duration of Hovershow 2017, Daedalus Slip will not be available to Personal Water Craft or other water users.  The slipway and beach will be cordoned off from the public out to a distance of 15 metres either side of the slip.  Swimmers and other water users are to remain clear of the PWC operating area depicted below and mariners operating in or near the Hovershow Operating Area should do so with particular caution.  


3. The Hovercraft is required to operate in accordance with the International Regulations for the Prevention of Collisions at Sea (COLREGS) and the Dockyard Port of Portsmouth Order 2005.

4. QHM Harbour Control will be kept informed of the event in progress and may be contacted on VHF Ch11 or by telephoning 023 9272 3694 for the latest information.

5. Cancel this Local Notice to Mariners on 19 September 17.
