IFA2 - ROCK PLACEMENT WORKS

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN by the Queen’s Harbour Master Portsmouth that as part of the IFA2 Interconnector Project, Rock Placement works will be taking place in UK waters for the final phase of the HVDC installation. Campaigns are planned to commence on the 2 April 2020 with intended completion by the 28 April 2020.   

2. Rock placement is planned in areas where the IFA2 HVDC cable crosses other seabed assets and jointing locations. (See locations on charlet) The dynamic positioning system onboard will keep the vessel in position to progressively install the rock in the planned locations.

 

3. The works are being carried out by DEME using the vessel “FLINTSTONE” LOA 154.6m (White Superstructure over Green hull, IMO 9528433; Call Sign PBZD) 

4. “FLINTSTONE” will have restricted manoeuvrability while undertaking underwater operations.  Vessels are requested to pass at a safe speed and distance and fishing vessels are advised to remain a safe distance (approximately 500m) from the works areas identified. The vessel will monitor VHF Channel 11 and 12 at all times.
