South East Sailors enjoy a multi-adventurous activity week

Storyline: Adventurous Training

South East based SP from Victory Squadron and 1710 Air Squadron have enjoyed the challenges of climbing, mountain biking and SUP this month.

The activities were organised and delivered by CPOPT Baz Chambers, Deployable Regional Unit East using the Parthian Climbing centre, Queen Elizabeth Country Park Revamped and the River Hamble.

This package forms part of a fifteen-week Adventurous Training delivery programme across the East and South West regions involving multiple activities including surfing, dinghy sailing, climbing, mountain biking and other water-based activities.

AB Emma Wineatt said, “I thought it was a really encouraging, easy-going environment which made it really good fun for all skill levels, even starting out as a beginner.”

PO Dafydd (Rusty) Ruston said, “Last minute Adventurous Training equals Happy days for 1710 NAS personnel. The Deployable Regional Unit East provided a week of Adventurous Training activities including rock climbing, paddleboarding & mountain biking.

“The sessions were challenging and confidence building, taking people out of their comfort zones with massive smiles on their faces. If you want to boost morale of your unit/section doing something fun and out of the ordinary, get in touch with CPOPT Barrie Chambers’.

The programme runs until summer leave and places are still available if you would like to get involved.
