Armed Forces Parliamentary Scheme members visit

Five members of the Armed Forces Parliamentary Scheme (AFPS) paid a visit to HMS Collingwood recently.

This was part of a series of visits to Royal Navy ships and establishments to help the members gain a wider understanding of service life and the training delivered.

During their time at the Fareham establishment they visited the Close Range Training Section in Mantle Hall where they were briefed on various systems and given the opportunity to experience hands on the HMG simulator.

They were then shown a Phalanx Weapon System demonstration before visiting the Maritime Composite Training System, were a short brief and tour of the complex allowed them to witness live synthetic training for Principal Warfare Officer Students.

Their final visit was to the Bridge Simulator where they witnessed the full capability of this state of the art facility and were shown the simulation of the QEC aircraft carrier coming into Portsmouth Harbour.
