Christmas is a “knockout” at HMNB Clyde

Staff from HMNB Clyde took part in a Christmas themed It’s a Knockout competition in the HMS Neptune Sportsdrome, on Wednesday, 6 December.

Twenty teams entered the contest, with teams  made up of between six and eight people and they were all encouraged to wear fancy dress.

The competition, which took place in the morning was a great opportunity for all departments to foster some team spirit, get out of the office and enjoy a fun filled event.

There were a total of 16 Christmas themed activities for contestants to complete, including a bucking reindeer, a stance where you had to sing Christmas carols while eating mince pies, an inflatable assault course and many more.

The event was highly competitive with teams striving to be the best. Poseidon, the team entered by Northern Diving Group came out on top, winning first prize.

During the afternoon, 43 members of the Helensburgh branch of Enable Scotland were invited along to the Base to take part. Santa made an appearance to welcome them to the event and they had a brilliant time joining in the activities with the Sportsdrome Staff.

Support worker with Enable, Nina Rapallini said:  “We are so pleased to have been invited along today and so impressed with what the staff here have laid on for us, the guys have all had an absolute ball.”

The event was also part of a food drive for the Helensburgh and Lomond food bank and teams were encouraged to bring along any food donations with them on the day.
