Fun for all at the HMS Sultan families day

Donkey Rides, Magic Shows and Exotic animals were just some of the many exciting activities on offer for Service personnel and their families to enjoy recently at the HMS Sultan Families Day.

The HMS Sultan Families Day is an invitation only event, which allows the Establishment to recognise the effort and commitment of personnel throughout the year.

HMS Sultan is the Royal Navy’s primary engineering training Establishment, which delivers training to both Officers and Ratings.

The Establishment is home to the Headquarters of the Defence College of Technical Training (DCTT), which includes the Defence School of Marine Engineering (DSMarE) and the Royal Naval Air Engineering and Survival School (RNAESS).

A number of other units also reside within the boundaries of HMS Sultan, including Defence Business Services and the Admiralty Interview Board.

Around its core training output, the Establishment’s personnel work hard to serve the local community, through hosting a number of visits, community projects and events, culminating in the HMS Sultan Summer Show and October’s Bonfire and Fireworks Night.

Captain Peter Towell, the Commanding Officer of HMS Sultan said: “At HMS Sultan we work tirelessly to ensure that our engineering training is at the very highest of standards possible. Our on-going commitment to achieving success is unwavering and is something which permeates throughout everything that we deliver.”

“Right from a member of our experienced Command team down to our most recently joined recruit, our highly skilled people are the key to our success and they deserve this opportunity to relax and enjoy themselves.

"In addition, our Families Day allows us to welcome loved ones into the work place and thank them for their continued support and encouragement.”
