Ice hockey

Whatever your ability or experience on the ice, there are opportunities to take part in the fast-paced and excitingly physical world of ice hockey.

Royal Navy Ice Hockey

We offer opportunities in ice hockey throughout the RN, from organising training at grassroots level to organising Inter-Service competitions, making it perfect for you whatever your level of experience.

Throughout the season the RN’s Representative team the Royal Navy Kings (made up of Regular and Reserve Sailors and Marines), compete in exhibition fixtures across all levels of ability, against military and civilian teams alike.

We predominantly run as one team, with Command and Corps level fixtures only taking place at the Tri-Service Championships annually in June. Here, the team splits into the RN Kings and RM Bootnecks. The best players from these teams compete for the Inter-Service side, the RN Destroyers.

Along with our competition teams we also run an exciting Development Team allowing skaters of all abilities to take a fully active part in ice hockey from the first face-off.

We also take touring sides across the world, successfully developing both beginner and experienced players, with games against opponents made up of military, civilian and many former and current professional players.
