Sports Facilities

From competitive training to leisure activities, Royal Navy sports facilities are open to all active service members, families, veterans, and defence civil service employees in cities, naval bases, and ships across the UK.

A colour photo shows a group of Royal Navy service members work out together in a fully-equipped Royal Navy gym. One service member lifts a large medical ball weight as his colleagues look on.

You’ll find our sports facilities in and near Royal Navy bases, barracks, training sites, and air stations. No matter where you are, you’ll have access to the same quality and standard of facilities. Specialist sports like tennis, swimming, and equestrian sport will have dedicated facilities at sites around the UK.

Active service families, veterans and their families, and civil servants and contractors working in the Ministry of Defence can also access select sports facilities in the UK with recreational and visitor passes.

Some Royal Navy sports facilities are also open and available to rent and hire for local schools and clubs.

Get in touch with Navy Sport to find out more about access to facilities and recreation passes.
