HMS TEMERAIRE

Open to all RN personnel and families seven days a week we boast an extensive range of fitness areas, swimming pool, courts and pitches to help you reach your fitness goals.

Welcome to HMS Temeraire

Located in the centre of Portsmouth, HMS Temeraire is available to all serving and non-serving Royal Navy personnel. Families and dependants are also welcome to use the fitness suites.

Serving spouses or partners will need to apply for Royal Navy IDs for each family member or dependant in order for the sport facilities to be used unaccompanied.

Specific inductions will also be required prior to the first use of any of the facilities.

What we offer you

Health and Fitness Centre

Our Health and Fitness Centre has several fitness suites including:

  • Cardiovascular centre (CV suite)
  • Strength conditioning room
  • Private fitness suites

Gymnasium

We have a 32m x 17.4m indoor gymnasium which can facilitate a number of indoor sports and activities, including:

  • Five-a-side football
  • Basketball
  • Volleyball
  • Hockey
  • Indoor cricket

A state-of-the-art climbing wall is also available.

Spinning Suite

Our fully-kitted suite has 11 spinning bikes and one instructor bike. An interactive device is also available for pre-set classes to follow on an 85” screen.

Squash Courts

We're equipped with four indoor squash courts, all of which are glass backed and have spectator viewing facilities.

Swimming Pool

We have a 33m heated indoor swimming pool, featuring 1m, 3m and 5m diving boards and a spectator gallery.

Swimming Pool Opening Hours:

  • Monday to Friday (four sessions): 06:45 - 07:30, 12:00 - 13:15, 16:30 - 17:15 and 17:45 - 18:30.
  • Saturday: (four sessions): 06:45 - 07:30, 12:00 - 13:15, 16:15 - 17:00 and 17:15 - 18:00.
  • Sunday (two sessions): 10:00 - 10:45 and 12:45 - 13:30.

Outdoor Sports Pitches and Courts

A range of facilities for sport and recreation are available, including a Fleet Recreation Centre, located 10-minutes walking distance from Victory Gate.

We also offer:

  • Football pitch
  • 3G football pitch
  • 3G rugby pitch
  • Water-based hockey pitch
  • Running track
  • Cricket pitch
  • Netball courts

Tennis courts are also available.
