King’s Harbour Master Portsmouth

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN by the King’s Harbour Master Portsmouth that the United Kingdom Offshore Power Boat Racing Association (UKOPRA) will race clockwise around the Isle of Wight on Saturday, 25 July 2026.
2. Approximately 25 power boats are expected to take part in the race. Competitors are expected to be travelling more than 50 knots. A full description of the race and its participants is available from the UKOPRA website (https://www.ukopra.co.uk). The following summary is provided for information purposes:
a. Vessels are expected to muster at Mercury Yacht Harbour, Hamble, at 1115 and transit under the direction of the ‘start boat’ to the start line, 4 cables east of East Bramble Buoy.
b. There will be two start times: 1230 and 1240.
c. The clockwise course around the Isle of Wight will proceed from the Eastern Solent, Solent Approaches, Southern Isle of Wight, Christchurch Bay, Western Solent Approaches, western Solent and back to the East Bramble buoy area. Marshall vessels will be identified by flying UKOPRA logo flags.
3. Competitors and race officials will maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 37A/M1.
4. All event and race vessels will adhere to local byelaws, including speed restrictions when transiting to and from the racecourse.
