SOUTHSEA FLYING DISPLAYS SATURDAY 20 JUNE 2026

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN by the King’s Harbour Master Portsmouth that on Saturday 20 June 2026 as part of the Armed Forces Day event on Southsea Common there will be two flying displays, the latter by two Spitfires from the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight off Southsea. 

2. The first aerobatic display will take place from 1330 -1345 and the second display between 1550 – 1600 over the main Portsmouth channel and the Swashway.

3. Under the terms of the Dockyard Port of Portsmouth Order 2005 an Exclusion Zone for all vessels will be in force from 1315 - 1345 and again from 1535 - 1605 as detailed below:

The area will be marshalled by 4 Rigid Hulled Inflatable Boats (RHIBs) supplied by Portsmouth City Council, which will be identifiable by flying a large red ‘Bravo’ flag and will be sited at each corner of the exclusion zone. These will be assisted by the KHM RHIB. All Marshall vessels can be contacted on VHF Ch 13 during the event. 

5. Under the terms of the Dockyard Port of Portsmouth Order 2005 mariners are required to vacate the area from 1315 – 1345 and between 1535 -1605, or until the completion of the final display, and to comply with requests from the marshal craft. 

6. VTS Portsmouth will coordinate all vessels over 20 metres in length to ensure such vessels are clear of the Exclusion Zone on each occasion. The Exclusion Zone will be formally established by Security message on VHF Channel 11.

7. Cancel this Local Notice to Mariners on 21 June 2026.
