King’s Harbour Master Portsmouth

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN by the King’s Harbour Master that KHM Harbour Control will be renamed Portsmouth Vessel Traffic Services (VTS) effective 1 May 2025, and will use ‘Portsmouth VTS’ as their call sign on VHF Channel 11.
2. The callsign for Portsmouth International Port remains unchanged and they can be contacted on VHF Channel 14 using the callsign ‘Portsmouth Harbour Radio’.
3. It will take some time for this change to be fully reflected in relevant documentation. Portsmouth VTS will respond to the call sign ‘KHM’ for the time being.
4. This change has been made to align with IALA Guideline G1083 on standard nomenclature to identify and refer to a VTS. Designated VTS Centres in the UK are listed in MSN 1796.
5. There are no changes to the authority, responsibility or service provided by Portsmouth VTS. Portsmouth VTS remains accountable to the King’s Harbour Master.
6. Cancel this LNTM on 31 Dec 2025.
