King’s Harbour Master Portsmouth

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN by the King's Harbour Master Portsmouth, that the Clipper 2023 -2024 Round the World Race will finish at Portsmouth between 1130 and 1200 on Saturday 27 July 2024.
2. The finish line will be between ‘Boyne’ buoy a starboard lateral mark and ‘SUHAILI’ a 32 ft sailing vessel.
3. The fleet consists of eleven, 70 ft sailing yachts, which will approach from the southeast. Once finished, the fleet will hold in an area between ‘Boyne’ buoy and Southsea Castle.
4. At approximately 1250 the fleet will form up and begin a parade of sail from the ‘Boyne’ buoy to the UHAF (Upper Harbour Ammunitioning Facility) behind the inbound Brittany Ferry – ‘MONT ST MICHEL’.
5. The fleet will then be held to the west of the UHAF, and at 1400 the fleet will then proceed south to Gunwharf Quays at approximate 5-minute intervals. Berthing should be complete by 1500.
6. There will be four marshalling RHIB’s (Rigid Hulled Inflatable Boat) which will be identified by orange marshal flags. Spectator Craft MUST NOT impede the Clipper Race Fleet during the Fleet Parade and should contract official Race Marshall Vessels on VHF Channel 11 for information.
7. As each vessel berths, 20m coloured smoke plumes will be visible.
8. Gunwharf Quays Marina will be closed to all visiting vessels from 1200 on Friday 26 July until 1200 on Monday 29 July. This includes short stays/pick up and drop offs.
