SOUTHSEA FLYING DISPLAY SATURDAY 8 JUNE 2024

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN by the King’s Harbour Master Portsmouth that on Saturday 8 June 2024 as part of the Armed Forces Day event on Southsea Common there will be a flying display by the Red Arrows Royal Air Force flying display team off Southsea. 

2. The display will take place from 1520-1600, with the display taking place over the main Portsmouth channel and the Swashway.

3. Under the terms of the Dockyard Port of Portsmouth Order 2005 an Exclusion Zone for all vessels will be in force from 1500 to 1600 as detailed below:

4. The area will be marshalled by KHM together with the Ministry of Defence Police (MDP) and five Rigid Hulled Inflatable Boats (RHIBs) supplied by Portsmouth City Council, which will be identifiable by red marker flag approximately 3ft by 2ft in size. All Marshall vessels can be contacted on VHF Ch 11 during the event. 

5. Mariners are requested to vacate the area from 1500 until the completion of the display at 1600 and to comply with requests from the marshal craft. Directions from the KHM Patrol vessels and Ministry of Defence Police vessels, given under the terms of the Dockyard Port of Portsmouth Order 2005 are to be obeyed at all times.

6. KHM Portsmouth will coordinate all vessels over 20 metres in length to ensure all such vessels are clear of the Exclusion Zone from 1500 to 1600. The Exclusion Zone will be formally established by Security message on VHF Channel 11.
