1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN by the King’s Harbour Master Portsmouth that Autonomous Surface Vessel trials will be conducted within the areas of Sandown and Hayling Bays from 18 – 22 November 2024.
2. Autonomous Surface Vessel (ASV) operations will be conducted with a safety vessel in attendance throughout. An ASV NavyX APAC will be undertaking Sea Trials. NAVYX APAC is an 8-metre craft, is coloured grey and has a top speed of 30 knots. NAVYX APAC will be controlled from XV PATRICK BLACKETT which will be acting as support craft and will remain in proximity for the duration of the trial. The trial staff operators embarked on the XV PATRICK BLACKETT will intervene in the event of any safety issues. For the trials serials, NAVYX APAC will be remotely/autonomously controlled, with the operator following the International Rules for Preventing Collisions at Sea (COLREGS) at all times.

3. Trials will take place from 0900 to 1700 over the period. NAVYX APAC will be operated in remote/autonomous mode in company with XV PATRICK BLACKETT from 2 basin HMNBP to the operating areas. They will then continue to operate within the designated area. The trial staff manning XV PATRICK BLACKETT have verified that the proposed Sea Trial is safe to continue.

4. The assigned safety vessels will be listening on VHF Ch 11/12, and 16.
5. All trials vessels will obey the International Rules for Preventing Collisions at Sea (COLREGS) at all times.
