RNR Hibernia

HMS Hibernia (Northern Ireland)

Based in Lisburn, HMS Hibernia is Northern Ireland's Royal Naval Reserve unit.

The Royal Naval Reserve has been in existence in Northern Ireland since 1924. Originally based in HMS Caroline in Belfast, since 2009 we have been based in HMS Hibernia at Lisburn.

As the only RNR unit in Northern Ireland, our Reservists represent a cross section of the Northern Ireland population.  Although many of our ship’s company come from the Greater Belfast area our catchment area encompasses the whole of the Island of Ireland.
