Formed in 2021 and based in HMS KING ALFRED within HMNB Portsmouth. URNU Solent offers students based in the Portsmouth, Sussex, Southampton and Winchester regions the opportunity to challenge and develop themselves, whilst making life-long friends and getting paid!
The URNU can offer you internationally recognised military and leadership training along with the opportunity to immerse yourself in a variety of sports and adventurous training activities. Even better, all training is designed to fit around your academic commitments. There are varying classes of ships, submarines and Naval Air Squadrons affiliated to the Unit along with its primary training ship, the Archer class P2000 HMS Blazer, all of which you will get the opportunity to embrace.
