URNU Oxford recruits students from the University of Oxford, Oxford Brookes and Reading universities. Situated in Oxford city centre, it conducts Training Nights on a Thursday during term time, with opportunities for training at sea, adventurous training, sports and social events.

Commanding Officer

Lt Peter Crease RN

  • Took Command in July 2021.
  • Pilot in the Royal Navy.
  • Previous roles in 845 NAS, 727 NAS and CHF HQ.

Coxswain

CPO Tristan Pring

  • Joined the Royal Navy in 1999.
  • Served onboard HMS Shoreham, HMS Southampton, HMS Nottingham.
  • His most recent role was as the Chief Caterer onboard HMS Queen Elizabeth.

Senior Training Officer

Lt. Antony McLarin RNR

  • Joined Oxford URNU as a training officer in 2013, formerly a student at the unit
  • Experienced in Navigation and Seamanship
  • Senior Training Officer from 2018
  • Teacher of History and Politics at a secondary school in Hertfordshire
