HMS Argyll is the longest-serving Type 23 Frigate in the Royal Navy.

Role

Led by Commander Charles J D Wheen. Since returning from a nine month Operational Deployment in May 19, HMS Argyll has operated in UK waters, conducted high level Defence Engagement activities, including support to the Bournemouth Air show, a visit to Antwerp to commemorate the liberation of the city in 1944 and attended DSEI 2019 where she demonstrated the ability to control Autonomous, unmanned Rigid Hulled Inflatable Boats (RHIBs) through the Ship’s Combat System – a world first.

Following a maintenance period, Operational Sea Training and a seven-month deployment to the Red Sea and Gulf in 2020, Argyll is back at sea around the UK on Maritime Security operations.
