HMS Sherwood (Nottingham)

HMS Sherwood is the Royal Naval Reserve unit associated with Nottingham and the East Midlands.

Role

Led by Commander Sacha Brooks, HMS Sherwood is located in the Beeston area of Nottingham. Here it provides a centre for RNR training activity for the East Midlands, drawing Reservists from across the region.

Nottingham is more than 50 miles from the coast, but the RNR has been in Nottingham for over 70 years. Reservists from HMS Sherwood have supported Royal Navy operations ranging from the 2012 London Olympics to NATO exercises in the Arctic and manning patrol vessels in the Pacific.
