Force Command – MTXG HQ

MTXG Headquarters serves as the central hub for planning, coordination, and delivery of MTXG capability. It brings together operational oversight, technical expertise, and strategic planning to ensure the Group remains ready and effective against assigned tasks.

Role

MTXG Headquarters is to provide command and control, strategic direction, and assurance for all Mine & Threat Exploitation Group activity. HQ is responsible for managing capability development, and driving force generation to ensure units remain trained, equipped, and ready for deployment. It oversees engineering support and equipment sustainment, ensuring safety and reliability across all platforms.

HQ manages movements and logistics, aligning resources with Fleet priorities and global commitments. By integrating operational planning, technical governance, and compliance with MOD policy, MTXG HQ ensures the delivery of consistent, high-end Mine Countermeasures capability wherever and whenever it is required.

Capability

MTXG Headquarters provides the core capability to integrate and deliver Mine Countermeasures operations across the Fleet.

Key capabilities include:

Operational Planning - Coordinating missions and aligning resources with Fleet priorities.
Engineering Support - Ensuring equipment reliability and lifecycle management.
Force Generation - Preparing and scheduling assets to meet the defence tasks set out in the annual plans.
Logistics and Movements - Positioning assets where they need to be, when they need to be, for operational success.

Crew

MTXG HQ comprises 23 personnel.

The HQ is a multidisciplinary team, bringing together mine warfare specialists, weapon engineers, marine engineers, and logisticians.

Each discipline plays a critical role in ensuring operational effectiveness. Working collaboratively, these specialists integrate their expertise to deliver seamless support to deployed Squadrons.

This unified approach enables Squadrons to remain mission-ready and operate effectively in complex and demanding environments.
