Royal Navy supports Sunderland Tall Ships

23 July 2018
Two Royal Navy vessels led around 60 magnificent ships to the starting line at the international Sunderland Tall Ships event.

P2000s HMS Pursuer and Trumpeter spearheaded a wonderful spectacle for the large crowds that visited over the five-day event.

Amongst the tall ships was Indian Ship Tarangini, which, during her stay, hosted the Naval Regional Commander for Northern England Commodore Phil Waterhouse as well as providing tours for local University Royal Naval Unit and Cadets.

A Royal Navy village consisting of the RN Diving Group, submarine trailer, RN Reserves and mobile careers information vehicle, was ably supported by enthusiastic local cadets from Hebburn and Sunderland, Jarrow, and Chester-le Street, who entertained crowds while been put through a number of challenges by Leading Physical Trainer Andrea Marshall.
