High Voltage Training

HMS SULTAN offers 3 levels of High Voltage training, focussed on RN and RFA safe systems of work. Trainees completing these courses must be approved and endorsed by an Authorising Engineer in their workplace.

The 3 courses are: 

 

048/520: HV Authorised Person (ME466). 5 days. Rank OR6 and above

Aim of course

  • To train officers/senior ratings to act as the Authorised Person in relation to HV equipment matters.
  • On completion of the course, individuals will be able to supervise/work on HV systems using the correct administration routines.

 

048/521: HV Competent Person (ME466A). 2 days, All ranks/grades

Aim of course

  • To train officers/senior ratings to act as the Competent Person in relation to HV equipment matters.
  • On completion of the course, individuals will be able to work on HV systems using the correct administration routines.

 

048/493: HV Authorised Engineer (ME466C). 1 day on top of HV AP course. Rank OR2

Pre-Requisite

Attendees must hold an HV Approves Person qualification.

Aim of course

  • To train officers in the additional legislature applicable to the role of HV Approved Engineer.
  • On completion of the course, individuals will be capable of fulfilling the role of HV Approved Engineer.
