Aim
The Action Information Organisation is an organisation in every ship that collects information from all possible sources and displays it in a format which enables action decisions to be taken.
Course details
In studying this subject:
IMS will develop an understanding of the Functions of the AIO in wartime and peacetime and how the AIO is structured into 5 main groups (Command, Directors, Supervisors, Reporters and Compilers) and each member of the AIO team, their roles and responsibilities. Furthermore they will become proficient in the considerations and factors for establishing a picture compilation plan, define the elements of picture compilation, the sources and the methods of processing and identify the various ways and means of presenting this
information.
