Welcome to Singapore

Carrier Strike Group 25 begins its port tour of Southeast Asia with a series of high-profile diplomatic engagements.

CSG25’s flagship, HMS Prince of Wales, led the delegation arriving in Singapore’s scenic Marina Bay. The city skyline gave crowds of admiring onlookers the perfect view for the aircraft carrier’s arrival into port. Standing guard by her side was HMS Dauntless, RFA Tidespring, Norwegian frigate HNoMS Roald Amundsen, and New Zealand’s HMNZS Te Kaha – the latest edition to the Group.

The delegation’s arrival into port was set to the sounds of the Royal Marines Band Service, who flew to Singapore ahead of the carrier’s arrival.

With international partnership at the heart of this tour, vessels from across the Carrier Strike Group also made their way to ports in Indonesia and Malaysia. Some five hundred miles from Singapore, frigates HMS Richmond and Spain’s SPS Méndez Núñez received a warm welcome in Jakarta, while Canadian frigate HMCS Ville de Québec sailed into Kuala Lumpur.

With several more engagements and exercises set to take place, including celebrating 60 years of the UK’s strong relationship to Singapore as trusted and reliable allies, Carrier Strike Group reasserts the UK’s continued commitment to the security and prosperity of the Indo-Pacific region.
