World-class operations
No two operations are ever the same. You’ll work in small, flexible teams, equipped to handle any situation. At times, we’ll use stealth tactics to go behind enemy lines. Or be prepared to defeat threats at sea. With no limits to what we can do, we take on dangerous missions worldwide and are always on the front line of combat and humanitarian aid.
Extreme environments
“Per mare, per terram.” By sea, by land. The environments we tackle are what define us. You’ll adapt to any surroundings and operate effectively in any condition – from the blistering heat to the biting cold. Royal Marines go where we’re needed: where others can’t, or won’t. That’s what makes us we’re world-class amphibious troops.

From a BBQ on deck to a run ashore with mates. Your free time is yours to wind down, relax, or let off some steam. That could mean playing ‘spoof’ in the mess, ‘bucketball’ on the flight deck, or a sightseeing at a new foreign port. When you’re not on exercise, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to pursue your passions in the evening, weekends, or on leave.

Sport is a central part of life as a Royal Marine. It contributes to your ongoing fitness, keeping you in peak condition to cope with the rigours of everyday life. You can get involved in a range of sports, from international rugby and football to judo and athletics. Additionally, you’ll have free access to the gym and be able to take advantage of our world-class sports facilities.
