Unit History

First Commisioned1965

HMS Dalriada is first commissioned as an RNR Headquarters Unit for the Firth of Clyde and is based in the Navy Buildings in Greenock until 2013.

Current Location2013

HMS Dalriada moves to its current location in Govan in south side of Glasgow.

Commanding Officer John Cunane

His early career was as the Logistics Officer of three submarines culminating in bringing the UK’s first Trident Class submarine (HMS Vanguard) into service. In May 2017, he had the privilege of being appointed Commanding Officer of HMS Dalriada, the Maritime Reserves Unit for those working and living in the West of Scotland
