To prepare properly for your fitness tests, and to get ready for Basic Training, it’s important you master the correct techniques for key exercises. To do a Royal Navy sit-up, you need to:
Lie on your back with your knees slightly bent. Keep the soles of your feet flat on the floor and lightly touch your temples with your hand.
Lift up your torso until your elbows touch your knees.
Return to your starting position in a controlled fashion, maximising each repetition.
