MILITARY TRAINING IN THE VICINITY OF BROWNDOWN POINT: 13 TO 26 JUNE 2022

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN by the Queen’s Harbour Master Portsmouth that military training will be conducted in the vicinity of Browndown Point in the Dockyard Port of Portsmouth (by day and night). 

2. The Military training will be conducted within a box bounded by the following positions:

P1: 50°47.27N 001°11.03W
P2: 50°47.20N 001°10.46W
P3: 50°46.78N 001°10.56W
P4: 50°47.03N 001°11.46W

For the period of the exercise, from am 13 June to pm 24 June, a temporary Exclusion Zone is established in this area and all water users are to keep clear of this area. The area  will be in constant use, with various large semi-submerged objects moored within the area. Overnight, several buoys will remain in the area. These will be lit with yellow flashing lights, flashing every 5 seconds, and also marked with cyalumes.

3. All vessels will display the correct day shapes and lights and will be monitoring VHF Channels 11 and 12.

4. This training will involve marking temporary anchorages with buoys, diving operations and towing flexible barges within 300m of Browndown Battery beach area.

5. All mariners are to keep clear of the area. QHM can be contacted on VHF Ch 11 or by telephoning 023 9272 3694 for updates.

6. Cancel this Local Notice to Mariners on 30 June 22.
