1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN jointly by the Queen's Harbour Master Portsmouth, the ABP Southampton Harbour Master and the Cowes Harbour Master that the United Kingdom Offshore Power Boat Racing Association will race Round the Isle of Wight on Sunday 1 May 2022. 

2. Approximately 35 power boats are expected to take part in the race.  Competitors are expected to be travelling in excess of 50 knots.  A full description of the race and its participants is available from the United Kingdom Offshore Powerboat Racing Association website (https://www.ukopra.co.uk). The following summary is provided for information purposes:

a. Vessels are expected to muster in the vicinity of East Lepe buoy in the Western Solent from 1100.

b. All vessels will start from 1130 to 1135.

c. The anti-clockwise course around the Isle of Wight will be from the Eastern Solent, turning points for the race include The Needles Lighthouse, St Catherine’s Point, Bembridge Ledge Buoy, No Mans Land Fort, North Sturbridge Buoy and Prince Consort Buoy. 

d. The race is expected to complete by 1500.

3. Competitors and race officials will be listening on VHF channel 37/M1.

4. All participants have been directed to obey the Dockyard Port of Portsmouth speed limit and must be at least 1000 yds from the MLWS line when exceeding 10 knots.

5. All mariners are requested to keep a good lookout and pass well clear of vessels participating in this event.
