1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN jointly by the Queen’s Harbour Master Portsmouth and the Harbour Master of ABP Southampton, that in order to increase the prominence of the eastern entrance of the Solent main channel when turning from the vicinity of the Nab Channel, the light characteristics of the lateral marks, Dean Tail and Nab End, will be changed to Quick Green and Quick Red. The changes are scheduled to take place between 21 and 28 February 2021.

2. Details of the changes to the affected buoys are as follows:

i) Dean Tail.  Starboard lateral mark flashing Green 5 seconds in position 50°42’98”N 000° 59’17”W will be changed to Quick Green (QG).

ii) Nab End.  Port lateral mark flashing Red 5 seconds in position 50°42’63”N 000° 59’48”W will be changed Quick Red (QR).

3. The exact time and date of these changes is subject to suitable sea state and conditions. Confirmation that the changes have been made will be promulgated by NAVWARN from QHM Portsmouth once complete.

4. Cancel this Local Notice to Mariners on 28 February 2021.
