MAINTENANCE DREDGING – PORT SOLENT APPROACHES

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN by the Queen’s Harbour Master Portsmouth that routine maintenance dredging will be conducted by ML (UK) Dredging Ltd within the Port Solent Approaches, commencing on the 17 April 2020 with completion due by early May 2020. The works are being conducted 24 hours a day. 

2. The vessels conducting this task are the “Witton II” or “Boxer” (Backhoe dredgers) which will display the appropriate signals from the COLREGS when conducting their operations.  Spoil from the dredging vessels is loaded into one of two self-propelled barges, “Split Two” or “Split Three” for disposal to the NAB Spoil Ground.

3. QHM Harbour Control may be contacted on VHF Ch 11 or by telephoning 02392 723689 for the latest information. Their movements will be de-conflicted from other movements by QHM Harbour Control in the usual manner.
